Adelina Rego, 70, of Somerset, wife of Manuel Rego, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at her home after a brief illness.

Born in Arrifes, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Leonel Cordeiro and the late Ernestina (DaSilva) Cordeiro.

Prior to her retirement, she was a seamstress in the local garment industry for many years. She also worked at the Catholic Memorial Home as a Certified Nursing Assistant for several years. An avid reader, she also loved cooking, baking, sewing, and crocheting. Adelina very much enjoyed shopping, working out at her local gym, and traveling with her beloved husband to such places as Europe, Alaska, Italy, Portugal, and Mexico. A selfless, hard-working, and strong-willed woman, Adelina was also a very devoted wife and mother.

Besides her husband of fifty years, she leaves: her loving children, Christine Soares and her husband, Frank, of Hudson, MA, and Manuel Rego, Jr. of Worcester, MA; three sisters, Tina Aultman and her husband, Clifford, of Alberta, Canada, Connie Kwiecien and her husband, Don, and Adrianna McCrae, both of Ontario, Canada; one brother, Tony Cordeiro and his wife, Gina, of Ontario, Canada; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Leo Cordeiro and Tino Cordeiro.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, February 9th, in St. John of God Church followed by her private committal at St. Patrick's Cemetery, both in Somerset.
