Afonso G. Estacio, 71, of Fall River, husband of Maria Odilia (Costa) Estacio, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at St. Anne's Hospital. Born in Ajuda De Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, he emigrated to Fall River in 1976.

He was employed for many years as an assembly technician with the Phillips Corporation (formerly Lightolier) until his retirement in 2017. Afonso was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Union.

He enjoyed gardening & landscaping, using his handyman skills to fix things around the house, going for rides in his Mustang, and watching soccer – being a lifelong Benfica fan. But most of all, Afonso loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Besides his wife, of 47 years, he is survived by: two sons, Derick Estacio (wife Bethany) of Fall River and Dennis Estacio (wife Diana) of Swansea; three siblings, Jose Manuel Estacio (wife Cidalia) of Canada, Horacio Estacio (wife Lucia) of the Azores, and Maria Odete Estacio De Sousa (husband Antonio) of Canada; four grandchildren, Chloe, Sophia, Avin, and Devan; and several nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, February 5th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
