Agostinho C.
Pereira
d. Dec 28, 2021
Agostinho C. Pereira, 92, of Fall River, husband of Luisa (Da Silva) Pereira, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 in the comforts of his home following a long illness. Born in Goaes Amares, Portugal, he was a son of the late Julio Antonio Pereira and the late Adelaide (Goncalves) Pereira.
Prior to his retirement, he worked in the local textile industry for many years. He loved fishing, cooking, and traveling to such places as Italy, France, Spain, Switzerland, and made many trips to his homeland in Portugal. Agostinho also enjoyed tending to his grapevines and making his own wine. But what was most important to Agostinho was spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Besides his loving wife of sixty-five years, he leaves his children, Adelaide Tavares and her husband, Antonio, of Seekonk, Doris Pereira of Somerset, Candido Pereira and his wife, Ann, and Fernando Pereira and his wife, Linda, both of Swansea; his three grandchildren, Amanda Cimbron, Jacob Tavares, and Lucas Pereira; his two great-grandchildren, Ava Cimbron and Kya Cimbron; one sister, Maria Pereira of Portugal; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the grandfather of the late Benjamin Tavares and brother of the late Berto Pereira and Neca Pereira.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, January 4th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in his memory to: Beacon Hospice, 182 North Main Street, Fall River, MA 02720 or a charity of one's choice.
