Aida Lopes Fernandes, age 67, a resident of Westport, Massachusetts, passed away at her home on Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Devoted wife of Manuel José Fernandes. Loving mother of Mark Fernandes and Kelly Fernandes. She also leaves five brothers, eight sisters, and many nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, September 27, in St. George Church in Westport followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery in Fall River. Aida had requested that in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to a charity of choice to help feed those who are less fortunate.
