Alan R. "Mike" Lawrence, 81, of Westport, husband of the late Alexandria (Reis) Lawrence, passed away at home on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. Born in New Bedford, a son of the late George Walter Lawrence and the late Ariel (Savaria) Lawrence, he was raised in Little Compton, RI, and resided in Westport for the last 18 years.

A heavy equipment operator for many years with various local area construction companies, Alan was an avid racing fan. He especially enjoyed stock car racing and going to Seekonk Speedway where he had even done some racing in his younger days.

He is survived by: nine children, Alan R. Lawrence III (Cathy), Kimberly Melo (Luis), David Lawrence (Trudy), Cheryl Levesque (Ronald), Bonita Rodrigues (Mario), Maria Dunlea (Dennis), Ramona Costa (John), Carolyn Goulet, and John Lewis (Terri); twenty grandchildren, Benjamin Lawrence, Ryan Lawrence, Zachary Melo, Collin Melo, Curtis Melo, Tucker Lawrence, Christinia Colfer, Taylor Lawrence, Jameson Lawrence, Christoper Rodrigues, Ashley Rodrigues, Mailie Amaral, Rickie Amaral, Jennifer Piper, John Costa, Jacob Costa, Corey Goulet, April McCoy, Johnathan Lewis, and Justin Lewis; twenty-four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Alan was also predeceased by several siblings.

Following a private graveside service, Alan was buried alongside his late wife at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River.
