Albano C. Sousa, 87, of Fall River, husband of the late Verginia (Almeida) Sousa, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Charlton Memorial Hospital after an illness. Born in Sanfins do Douro, Tras-os-Montes, Portugal, son of the late Antonio and the late Adriana (Carmim) Sousa, he emigrated to Fall River in 1973.

He was employed as a cook for over fifty years, at Lusitano Restaurant for the longest time, then on a part time basis at Crystal Palace while in his retirement. He worked most of his life, having started working at age five to help support his family, and came to really love his job. If he was working, he was happy. He also enjoyed soccer and was a big Benfica fan.

He is survived by: his son, Jose Luis Sousa of Fall River; siblings, Emilia, Fernando & Armando Sousa; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Maria Silva.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, December 29th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River.
