Alda M. Couto, 89, of Somerset, widow of Victor Couto, passed away Wednesday at home with her loving family at her side.  Born in Ponta Delgada, daughter of the late Jose and Lepoldina Sousa. Alda worked as a seamstress for the Fall River Knitting Mills. Mother of Isabel (husband-Jacinto) Duarte of Canada, Dina (husband- Ricardo) Franco of Rehoboth, Victor (wife-Elaine) Couto of Dartmouth, Paula (husband – Steven) Botelho of Rochester MA, Eduarda (husband –Manuel) Silva of Tiverton, RI, and Mica (husband-Tony) Melo, Louie (wife-Susan) Couto, Saozinha Labao, and Jorge Couto all of Somerset. She also leaves fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great granchildren. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, March 11th, in St. John of God Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery in Somerset.
