Alexander Banky Jr, 96, of Tiverton, RI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at St. Anne's Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Alexander Banky and the late Ida (Rostron) Banky..

He is survived by first wife, Cynthia Banky Farnham, was husband of the late Muriel (Kozak) Banky and survived by longtime companion, Maria Paquette.

Prior to his retirement, he served in the United States Navy during WWII and worked for the American Maritime Officers Union as Chief Mate in the Merchant Marines for many years. He loved fishing, gardening, cooking and traveling the world.

He leaves his children, Edith "Edie" Banky and her husband, James Kingsley, of Tiverton, Alexander Banky III and his wife, Otilia, of Portsmouth, and Charles Anson Banky, wife Dori, of Freetown; his four grandchildren, Alexander Banky IV, James Anson Banky, Tamara Soares and Jordan Gagne; his great-grandchildren Trevor and Autumn; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Robert Banky, George Banky, Henry Banky, Frank Banky, Susan Anderson, Elizabeth Casino, Charles Banky, and Jimmy Banky

His funeral arrangements were private.
