Alexandrina (Medeiros) Mello, 88, of Swansea, died Friday, April 23, 2010 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Antone & Maria (Vieira) Medeiros. Employed in the local textile industry for many years until retiring in the early 1980s, she was also a member of the ILGWU (now UNITE). She was a longtime caregiver for her mother, brother & sister. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, and, most of all, her family. Survivors include: a daughter, Patricia C. Booth (husband-Edwin) of Swansea; a brother, Antone Medeiros (wife-Verna) of Westport; 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was also mother of the late Ronald R. Mello; and sister of the late Albert A. Medeiros and Mary T. Augustine. Her funeral Mass was celebrated in St John of God Church. She was laid to rest at St Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
