Alexandrina (Barbosa) Pacheco, age 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 15, 2020. She was the adored and beloved wife of the late Jose T. Pacheco (who passed away in 2017) with whom she enjoyed 58 years of marriage. Together Alexandrina and Jose patiently and lovingly raised ten children while bridging the cultural differences of life in Fall River, Massachusetts, and life in Ribeira Seca, Sao Miguel. Born in Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Jose Arruda Ferreira and the late Almorinda Barbosa. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Cathedral and the former Saints Peter and Paul Parish at Holy Cross Church. For many years she was a member of Holy Rosary Society and a guardian angel to the students at the former Saints Peter and Paul School. She was also a fervent devotee of the Charismatic Prayer Group at the former Our Lady of Health Church.

She was the mother of Jose Antonio Pacheco of Dartmouth, Emanuel B. Pacheco of Westport, Rita P. Mendonca of Fall River, Beatrice P. Medeiros of Fall River, Luis C. Pacheco of Dartmouth, Paul J. Pacheco of Westport, Gloria M. Pacheco of Fall River, Maria P. Rumsey of Fall River, Rui B. Pacheco of Fall River, and the late Decio B. Pacheco. Alexandrina is survived by all of her siblings, Conceicao Barbosa, Manuel Ferreira, Maria de Deus de Medeiros, Maria da Gloria Moniz, Natalia Pontes, and Maria do Ceu Uncao, all residing in Canada. She is also survived by many precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she was the grandmother of the late Anthony J. Pacheco.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, July 18th, in St. Mary's Cathedral followed by a private committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
