Alfred P. Ciullo, 82, of Fall River, husband of Catherine (De Costa) Ciullo, died Jan. 20, 2008, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Fall River, son of the late Vito & Elenora (Martucci) Ciullo, he was a lifelong resident of Fall River. He was employed over 20 years as a machinist at Crafford Tool & Die of East Providence. A decorated World War II veteran serving as a machine gunner with the frontline infantry and Corporal in the US Army's 253rd Regiment Company C during the European Campaign, Mr. Ciullo earned the Bronze Star for his valor in combat. Well read and politically astute, he was respected for his ability to converse on any topic and impart wisdom in humble fashion with a sense of humor. An avid sports fan, Alfred was one of the original New England Patriots season ticket holders and attended several Super Bowls. An avid gardener and accomplished cook, his culinary talents were much appreciated at family gatherings (and tailgate parties). Besides his devoted wife of 57 years, survivors include: sisters, Gladys Durand and Margaret DiPalma both of Fall River and Carmela "Ella" Lanni of Warwick, RI; several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Jerry Ciullo, Vera Souza and Rose McNulty.

His funeral Mass was celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church by Rev. Richard Chretien. Pallbearers were Thomas McNulty, Edward Durand, Michael and Domenico Picozzi, Michael Saccoccia, Robert Ferreira, Paul Lanni, Cory Lane and Christopher Correia.
