Alfred "Fred" J. Costa Sr., age 89, of Tiverton, RI, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025. Born in Tiverton, RI, he was the son of the late Antone and Mary (Viveiros) Costa formerly of Tiverton.
Besides his wife of 68 years, Dorothy B. (Raposa) Costa, he is survived by: his two sons, Alfred J. Costa Jr and his wife Martha (Farrington) of Portsmouth, RI, and Mark A. Costa and his wife Lauri (Silva) of Hull, MA; siblings, James Costa, George Costa, and Marion Mayo; grandchildren, Stephanie and her husband Christoper Gibson, Marci, Bradley, Alexander and his fiancé Shannon McKenna, Ryan, Danielle and her fiancé Gregory Martin, and Nicholas; great-grandson, Matthew Plutzner; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Mederios, Edward Costa, Manuel Costa, Antone Costa Jr., Joseph Costa, Elsie Ferreira, and Robert Costa.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and business owner as well as a beloved member of his community. He was a partner at FC Construction of Westport, MA, a lifelong New England Patriots fan and season ticket holder, and a dedicated parishioner of St. Theresa's Church, Tiverton RI.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, April 29th, at St. Theresa's Church in Tiverton followedby his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery in Fall River.
