Alfredo R.
Pacheco
d. Jan 22, 2023
Alfredo R. Pacheco, 76, of North Dighton, husband of Alda (Medeiros) Pacheco, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Charlton Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Ribeira das Tainhas, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Alfredo C. Pacheco and the late Felicidade (Resendes) Pacheco.
Prior to his retirement he was a laborer in the local construction industry for many years. A kind and very hard-working man, Alfredo had "a heart of gold" and was always willing to offer his support and help to anyone in any way he could. He loved working in his yard, tending to his animals, long afternoons listening to his Portuguese radio and soccer. But most importantly, spending quality time and making memories with his family. As a devoted husband, his priority was his wife and her well-being, as a father, father-in-law, and grandfather he instilled high morals and practical values within his loved ones. He will be immensely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Besides his loving wife of fifty-one years, he leaves his two sons, Nelson M. Pacheco and his wife, Lucia, of North Dighton, and Steve M. Pacheco and his husband, Ido Zeldenrust, of Los Angeles, California; his precious granddaughter, Laryssa Pacheco; two sisters, Maria da Gloria DeJesus (late husband, Herman) of Rumford, Rhode Island, and Fatima DeMello (late husband Antonio of Montreal, Canada; brothers, Manuel Pacheco and his wife, Maria, of Somerset, Antonio Pacheco (late wife, Maria) of Fall River, and Eduardo Pacheco and his wife, Eduarda, of Fall River; and several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Anna Fernandes.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, January 26th, at St. John of God Church in Somerset followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River.
