Alice V. Belcher, 94, wife of the late Daniel Vieira and the late Norman E. Belcher, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Charlton Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late John Venancio and the late Silvana (Medeiros) Venancio.
Prior to her retirement, she was the owner and operator of Alice's Hair Salon for many years. She loved cooking, painting, crocheting, and ceramics. A very social woman, Alice was an avid member the Fall River and Tiverton Senior Centers. She also enjoyed traveling to such places a Hawaii, Portugal, and Europe. Alice will be remembered for her impeccable appearance, her great smile, and, most importantly, her dedication and commitment to her family and her long-time friends.
She leaves her loving son, Kenneth P. Vieira and his companion, Desiree Gilliland, of Tiverton, Rhode Island; her grandson, Michael R. Vieira of Portsmouth, Rhode Island; her three step-children, Bruce Belcher of Detroit, MI, Roy Belcher of Novato, CA, and Carol Thomson of Myrtle Beach, SC; her two step-grandchildren, Adam Belcher of Novato, CA and Lindsay Thomson of Myrtle Beach, SC; and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her son Russell G. Vieira and her twelve brothers and sisters.
Following a private cremation, Her Memorial Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, October 18th, at the St. Anthony of the Desert Church in Fall River. Her cremains along with those of her late husband, Norman, were buried privately.
