Alice (Gabbour) Coury, 91, of Fall River, wife of the late Tufie P. Coury, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Swansea, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Martha (Attar) Gabbour. She was a seamstress in the local textile industry for many years prior to her retirement. Alice loved cooking, gardening, crocheting, and playing cards. A warm, genuine, classy woman who held family very dear to her heart.  A devout Maronite Catholic, she was also a member of the Lebanese American Ladies Auxiliary and Blessed Mothers Guild. She leaves:  her children, Lorna Swearingen of Rhode Island and Paul James Coury of California; two grandchildren, Dr. Kylie Swearingen and Dr. Jordan Swearingen; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Steven Paul Coury and sister of the late Mary George, Ann Zahralban, George Gabbour, Josef Gabbour, and Gabe Gabbour. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, February 22nd, in St. Anthony of the Desert Church. Her entombment at the Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum was private.
