Alice Faria Viveiros, 92, of Fall River, widow of Louis Viveiros & former widow of David Faria, died Sunday 11/29/09 at Country Gardens Nursing Home, Swansea. Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Jacintho & Maria (Mattos) Almeida, she lived in Fall River most of her life. Employed in the local textile industry for about 40 years until her retirement in 1979, she was also a member of the I.L.G.W.U. (now UNITE). Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling. She leaves: children, David R. Faria, Jr. (wife Elaine) of Somerset, Ann Marie Medeiros (husband Bruce) of Swansea; stepchildren, Phil Viveiros (wife Rosemary) of Tiverton, Paul Viveiros of Florida; a sister, Hilda Levezinho of Edgewater, FL, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late Joseph Almeida and Mary O'Melia. On Wednesday, 12/02/09, friends and family gathered at the funeral home before leaving for a Funeral Mass at Holy Trinity to celebrate Alice's life. Following the service, pallbearers; Len and Tim Faria, Alan and Mike Machado, Jose Ochoa and Bruce Medeiros, brought Alice to her final resting place in St. Patrick Cemetery.
