Alice Shaker Hassoun, entered her heavenly home at 1:45 PM on January, 2, 2015. She was the devoted wife of the late Fayez 'Harry' Hassoun, whom she lovingly cared for many years after his stroke. Born in her beloved Fall River, Alice was the daughter of the late Joseph and Eva Shaker. She began work in her teenage years in Newport, RI, helping with the war efforts and then worked in the garment industry and operated a cafeteria for numerous years. Mrs. Hassoun was a devoted member of Saint Anthony of the Desert Church, its Blessed Mother Guild and the Lebanon-American Ladies Auxiliary. Assuming leadership in numerous church and community endeavors, she was always known as a leader who could get projects or goals completed, not by talk but action. Alice leaves a legacy of commitment to faith, family and her community. She was always the first to lend a hand or give needed advice to family, friends or community members and gave so much of herself to assist others in need, never complaining and always giving the extra efforts. She will be remembered as a rock of support and a light for many individuals. She will be missed deeply by her loving family that includes a daughter Donna Kerley and her husband Jim of Crossville, Tennessee; a son Harry and his wife Linda of Swansea, MA.; grandchildren, James Kerley of Jacksonville, FL, Rachael Kerley of Gainesville, FL, Jordan Hassoun of Swansea, MA; a great granddaughter, Zelia Rose Kerley of Gainesville, FL.; a brother Shaker 'Jake' Shaker of Fall River and many nieces and nephews that she loved deeply. Alice was also the beloved sister of the late Antone 'Bob' Shaker, Michael Shaker, Lorraine Costa, Zachree 'Toni' Azar and Wadid Shaker. Her Funeral Msss was celebrated on Wednesday , January 7, in St. Anthony of the Desert Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
