Alice Raposa, 87, of Jacksonville, FL and formerly of Swansea, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2013. Widow of Julio Motta Raposa. Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Francisco and Maria (Araujo) Teixeira. For 20 Years she owned and operated Scanlon-Berghman Insurance Agency in Swansea. Over the past seven years, she was the office manager for her son's business, Frosty AC in Jacksonville, FL. She loved spending time with her great grandchildren and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing. Survivors include a son, Keith Raposa of Jacksonville, FL; daughters, Arleen Wargat of Jacksonville, FL, Barbara Leonard (husband - Frank) of Comstock Park, MI, and Kathleen Kocak (husband - Paul) of North Dighton; a brother, Anibal Teixeira (wife - Del) of Fall River; grandchildren, Jessicah Kane, Damien Leonard and April Leonard; great grandchildren, Joey Feno and Fiona Leonard; and several nieces and nephews. She was also mother of the late Julio Mark Raposa and Marianne Waits; grandmother of the late Marsha Feno; and sister of the late Arthur A. Teixeira, Francisco Teixeira, Lydia Falandys and Marie Arnaldo. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, May 14, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
