Alice (Ponte) Teixeira, 76, of Beacon St. in Fall River since 1991 and formerly of Blossom Rd. in Westport, died unexpectedly at home on January 30, 2009. She was the widow of David Teixeira. Born in Fall River, daughter of the late John Sardinho Ponte & Alice (Forneiro) Ponte. She worked as a CNA for 28 years at the former Crestwood Nursing Home before retiring. She was the mother of five daughters, Ann Carreiro (fiancé, Eduardo Mota) and Diane Teixeira Amaral, both of Fall River, Jean Teixeira Andrew of Providence, RI, the late Susan Teixeira and the late Janet Teixeira Garcia; sister of John Ponte of Fall River, David Ponte of Westport, the late George Ponte, the late Francis Ponte, Pauline Souza of St. Johnsville, NY and Lorraine Manuel and Louise Cardoza, both of Florida. She also leaves 28 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. Her funeral Mass was celebrated in Our Lady of Grace Church. Pallbearers David Ponte Jr, Darren Cardoza, Dan and Albert Ponte, Douglas Amaral and Frank Souza brought ALice to her final resting place at St. Patrick Cemetery.
