Almedina (Moniz) Raposo, known as Amy, aged 73, died peacefully
on Friday
at St. Anne's Hospital. Amy was married to
Antonio Raposo for 55 years, and lived in Fall River. Amy was born in the village of Nordeste, Azores, the daughter of Joseph and Carmen Moniz. Amy loved music and dancing. She found the deepest joy and peace walking her dogs in nature. She loved the beach and had a special place in her heart for Gooseberry Island. Amy was a woman of deep faith and took solace in prayer.
She is survived by
her four children;

husband
Darren
of London, Lisa LaBollita and husband Mark of Bristol, RI, Michael Raposo and wife Deb of Berkeley, MA,
and Deborah Raposo of Brooklyn, NY
; six grandchildren; siblings, Mary DaCosta and her husband Antone, Maria Conceição Medeiros and her husband Francisco, Laurie Rapoza and her husband Frank; sisters in law Maria Conceição Sardinha and her husband Manuel and Stella Moniz. She was the sister of the late Manuel Moniz. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on
Tuesday, June 5th,
in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
