Almorinda (Pimental) Reis, 96, of Fall River, passed away peacefully on Tuesday at St. Anne's Hospital. She was the devoted wife of the late Severino Reis to whom she was married for 63 years. Born in New Bedford, she lived in Fall River most of her life and worked as a seamstress in various mills and then, not surprisingly, as a "lunch lady" for the Letourneau School. "VaVo" always did love to cook and feed everyone! Alma was the beloved mother of Everett Reis, Ellie Reis Collins, and Steven Reis (wife-Rosie); sister of Gilberta Souza and the late Cecilia Brazil; sister-in-law of Margarida Reis; loving grandmother of Christopher and Craig Amaral, Brett Reis, Renee Souza, Courtney and Julia Reis; great grandmother of Amanda, Amber, Christopher, Craig, Caden, Kayla, Kyle, Victoria, and Atreya. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. A special word of thanks to all the healthcare professionals who helped us in the care of our mother, allowing her to be in her own home, and to the staff of St. Anne's Hospital for the care, compassion and prayer shown to us in her final days. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, June 4th, in Holy Cross Parish Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
