Alphonse K.
Abdallah
d. Apr 22, 2022
Alphonse K. Abdallah, 101, of Swansea, husband of Constance J. (Waskiewicz) Abdallah, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday, April 22, 2022. Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Kalil Abdallah and the late Nazira (Solomon) Abdallah.
A World War II US Army veteran, he served with the 4812 th Medical Detachment. Early in his career, he supervised the trimming department at Har-Lee Manufacturing Company, a division of Wentworth Manufacturing, formerly of Fall River, for a number of years – where he met his bride-to-be "Connie," the love of his life. Alphonse was next employed as an x-ray technician for many years at the Pondville State Hospital, formerly of Norfolk, MA, as well as at St. Anne's, Union, and Truesdale Hospitals. In retirement, he worked part time as an x-ray technician with Dr Rahman at Hanover Medical Clinic.
A member, and past commander, of the Lebanese-American Veteran's Association, he was also a longtime member of the Lebanon American Society. He would enjoy gambling on occasion, dog and horse racing in his younger days and casinos in his later years, including weekly visits to Foxwoods with his wife and son, Alan. But most important to him was providing for and spending time with his family – especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren who brought him his proudest moments of joy.
Besides his wife, of 63 years, he is survived by: two children, Alan P. Abdallah of Swansea and Robert M. Abdallah (wife Karyn) of New Port Richie, Florida; five grandchildren, Alyssa Mathieu (husband Paul), Erin, Tyler, Sarah and Matthew Abdallah; two great grandchildren, Olivia and Ben; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceasing him are all of his siblings, Josephine Maroon, and Joseph, Michael, Albert, Abdallah ("Abby"), Isabel, and George Abdallah.
The family acknowledges with grateful appreciation the compassionate kindness and support provided Alphonse by the staff of AccentCare Hospice.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, April 27th, in St. Anthony of the Desert Church followed by his committal with military honors at St. Patrick Cemetery both in Fall River. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Alphonse's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; 800-805-5856; https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html
