Altino R. "Moe" Gouveia, 82, of Berkley, husband of the late Amarinda (Moniz) Gouveia, died September 14, 2008 after a long illness. Born and raised in Fall River, son of the late Manuel & Maria (Pacheco) Gouveia, he moved to Berkley in 1963. A Greyhound owner & trainer countrywide, he had several Derby winners. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving on the USS Hollis. Moe was an avid Red Sox fan. Father of Michael L. Gouveia of Middleboro and Nancy A. Fairhurst (husband-George) of Berkley. Grandfather of Melissa Travers (husband-Nathan). Brother of Amy Remigio of Somerset and Mary Tisdale of Fall River. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. His funeral Mass was celebrated in Espirito Santo Church. His committal service was held at Notre Dame Cemetery.
