Alvarino de Sousa, 68, of Fall River, husband of Maria (Carvalho) de Sousa, died Tuesday 3/18/14 at home after a long illness. Born in Varzea Ginetes, St Michael, Azores, son of the late Victorino & Isabel (Camara) de Sousa, he emigrated to Fall River in 1971. He worked for about 10 years with the former Quaker Fabric until an early retirement in 1994 due to disability. Father of Robert de Sousa and Patricia Labrie (husband Jeremy) both of Fall River. Brother of Maria & Euginio de Sousa both of Canada, Fernanda Sousa of St Michael, Azores, Delia de Sousa of Tiverton, and the late Maria Ferreira, Jose, Joao & Manuel de Sousa. He also leaves 5 grandchildren, many nieces & nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, March 22, in St Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
