Obituary

Alzira Cabral, 91, of Westport, wife of the late Antonio Cabral, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 14, 2020 at The Royal of Fairhaven Nursing Home after a long illness. Born in Lisbon, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Fernao and Libana (Das Dores) Cabral.

Prior to her retirement, she worked as a sewing machine operator in the local textile industry for many years. She loved cooking, baking, and gardening. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to Portugal, to visit family. But what was most important to Alzira was spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She leaves: her loving daughters, Maria "Filomena" Lopes and her husband, Manuel, and Maria M. Pacheco and her husband, Manuel, both of Westport; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Armando Cabral and Amadeu Viegas.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, December 18th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her private committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
