Amato "Marty" Polselli, Sr., 83, of Fall River, passed away on March 13, 2010. He was the husband of the late Rose Marie (Borden) Polselli. Born in Fall River, son of the late Gaetano & Mary (Maccarone) Polselli. A WWII veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a firefighter with the Fall River Fire Dept. from 1953-1984. A lifelong member and trustee for the Sons of Italy, he also belonged to the Italian War Veteran's Assoc. and the Knights of Columbus. He was a self-taught architect and builder who constructed and renovated numerous homes and businesses. He, along with his friend, Joe Francoeur, designed and built an altar for St. Mary's Cathedral. Marty was also an avid sports fan, particularly baseball, and played with the Columbus Park League in his youth. His survivors include sons, Amato Polselli, Jr. (wife-Karlene), Dennis Polselli (wife-Donna) and David Polselli of Fall River, Clifford Polselli (wife-Jill) of W. Yarmouth, Christopher Polselli of Fall River and Dominic Polselli (wife-Tanya) of FL; daughters, Debra Polselli of Fall River, Barbara Domingue (husband-Robert) of Swansea and Linda Mangini (fiancé-Ed Jackson) of Acushnet; brothers, Gaetano Polselli of Portsmouth, RI, Mario Polselli of CA, Rev. Leo Polselli of N. Easton and Anthony Polselli of AZ; sisters, Anna Lucciola and Rita Ciolfi, both of Fall River, 12 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Armand Polselli and Eugene Polselli. His funeral Mass was celebrated by his brother Fr. Leo Polselli in Holy Rosary Church.
