Amelia M. Catarina, 89, of Fall River, wife of the late Antero Catarina, passed away peacefully surrounded by her four nieces on Monday, July 29, 2024 at St. Anne's Hospital following a long illness. Born in Sao Pedro, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Joao Marcelino and the late Maria (Medeiros) Marcelino.

She loved cooking, gardening, and shopping. Most notably Amelia was a true lady, always tastefully dressed and respectfully kind to all.

She leaves her two sisters, Natalia Marcelino of the Azores and Isaura DaSilva of Fall River; nieces, Adriana Marcelino and Maria Lussier, who were also her devoted caregivers; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Maria Salgado, Irondina Rodrigues, Angela Coimbra, Marceline Carreiro, and Joao Marcelino.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, August 2nd, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
