Amelia (Concaison) Ettress Soares, 84, of Fall River, died unexpectedly Tuesday at St. Luke's Hospital. Widow of James A. Soares, with whom she shared 10 years of marriage after the passing of her husband of 33 years, Taylor Ettress, Sr. A lifelong resident Fall River, daughter of the late Joao and Julia (Soares) Concaison Rosario. She loved Cape Verdean dancing, was known for her abundant energy and passion for life, and lived to be with her family. She was a parishioner of the former Our Lady of the Angels Church. Survivors include sons, Taylor J. Ettress, Jr. of Westport, Kenneth D. Ettress of Fall River; daughters, Julie Mogardo of Stone Mountain, GA, Sandra (Ettress) Gomes of New Bedford, Brenda Ettress of Dartmouth, Lisa (Ettress) Ruffin of Atlanta, GA; brother, Michael Concaison of New Bedford; sister, Mary Kilby of Fall River, and "sister" Darlene Spencer of New Bedford; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, grandmother of the late James Mogardo, and sister of the late Tony & Phillip Concaison, Anna Cabrera and Elizabeth Ramos. Funeral was held Saturday, July 14th, in Good Shepherd Parish Church. Pallbearers were Taylor Ettress, Scotty Ettress, Joey Ettress, Shane Ettress, Seneca Ettress and Freddy Gomes. Interment Notre Dame Cemetery.
