Americo DeAlmeida, 85, of Fall River, husband of Mariana (Raposo) DeAlmeida, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, a son of the late Benjamin DeAlmeida and the late Maria Candida (Campelas) DeAlmeida, he emigrated to Fall River in 1975.

He was employed with the former Quaker Fabric for many years, retiring in 2003. A hard worker and devoted family man, Americo enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends.

Besides his wife of 61 years, he is survived by: three sons, Flavio DeAlmeida (wife Suzanne) of Fall River, Richard DeAlmeida (wife Claudia) of Westport, and Claudio DeAlmeida (wife Celia) of Fall River; three granddaughters, Katelyn Rosenthal (husband Jeffrey), Melissa DeAlmeida (fiancé Andrew Bshara), and Cynthia DeAlmeida; two great grandsons, Benjamin and Ari; and several niece and nephews. Americo was preceded in death by all four of his siblings, Antonio DeAlmeida, Fatima Venancio, Osvaldo DeAlmeida, and Claudette Sousa.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, December 23rd, in Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
