Amos S. Oliveira, Jr., of Fall River, husband of Mary Ann (Walker) Oliveira, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2023 at the Fall River Jewish Home following a brief illness. Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Amos S. Oliveira, Sr. and the late Evelyn (Correia) Oliveira.
Prior to his retirement he was a chef at UMass Dartmouth for many years. A United States Veteran, he proudly and bravely served his country in the Marines during the Korean Conflict. An avid soccer fan, he also loved fishing, cooking, and, most importantly, spending quality time with all his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife of sixty-three years, he leaves his loving children, Kenneth Oliveira and his wife, Sandra, Michael Oliveira and his wife, Pauline, both of Lakeville, Brenda Lee Cabral and her husband, David, of Assonet, and Brian Oliveira and his long-time companion, Carrie McDermott, of Fall River; his nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Manuel Santos, Lillian Custodio, Alma Blais, Beatrice Lima, Irene Ruddy, Gerry Beene, John Santos, Noel Santos, and Anthony Santos.
His funeral arrangements were private. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in Amos's memory to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 510 St Jude PL, Memphis, TN, 38105-9959.
