Ana Benevides Alves, 93, of Fall River and wife of the late Manuel R. Alves, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 5, 2021 at St. Anne's Hospital following a long illness. Born in Ariffes, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel Benevides and the late Angelina (Cabral) Benevides.

Prior to her retirement, she was a presser in the local garment industry for many years. She loved cooking, baking, and sewing. A devout Catholic who prayed daily, Ana was also a kind and generous woman with a "big heart" and would help anyone in need.

She leaves; her children, Maria Fatima Barbosa and her husband, Manuel, of Westport, Samuel Benevides Alves and his wife, Mary Jane, of Bermuda, and Lucy Leite (late husband, Gary) of Fall River; her six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Maria DoCarmo Oliveira and her husband, Domingos, of Toronto, Canada; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Daniel Benevides Alves and grandmother of the late Christopher Alves and sister of many late brothers and sisters.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, November 10th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
