Ana Maria (Carreiro) Bernardo, 76, of Westport, wife of the late Antonio T. Bernardo, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Rabo de Peixe, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Lazaro Jose Carreiro and the late Maria Estrela (Faria) Carreiro.

Prior to retirement, Ana worked as a seamstress. She enjoyed sewing, bingo, gardening, and spending time with her friends and family.

She leaves her two children, Anthony T. Bernardo and his wife Melonie, of Coventry, Rhode Island and Ana M. Leeds and her husband Robert, of Fall River; grandchildren, Sara J. Pacheco, Emily E. Pacheco and Gabriella Bernardo; siblings, Lazaro Carreiro, of Fall River, and Eduarda Pacheco, of Fall River; and many nieces and nephews. Ana was predeceased by her siblings Jose Carreiro and Dina Sousa.

Her arrangements were private and under the care of Silva-Faria Funeral Homes.
