Ana Rivera, 87, of Fall River, died Tuesday, October 16, 2007, at the Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. She was the widow of Benito Rivera. Born in Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of the late Ignacio Valentin and the late Eulogia (Ferrer) Valentin. A resident of Fall River since 1973, she was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Surviving family members include four sons, Pablo Rivera, Benito Rivera, Jr., Abraham Rivera and Robert Rivera, six daughters, Felicita Melendez, Lydia Sotomayor, Gladys Martinez, Anna Cintron, Annette Dupras and Aidee Rivera, all of Fall River, a sister, Gladys Alverez of New York, thirty six grandchildren, thirty five great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Raul Valentin and the late Guilhermo Valentin. Her Funeral Mass, celebrated by Father Brian Albino, was offered in St Anthony of Padua Church on Friday (10/19). Committal services followed at Notre Dame Cemetery. Pallbearers were Frank Melendez, Robert, Brandon & Joseph Rivera, Eric Sotomayor, Jorge & Jesus Cintron and Neil Stewart.
