Andrew J. Alves, 52, of Berkley, husband of Natalie M. (DaPonte) Alves, passed away at home on Friday, October 29, 2021. Born in Fall River, a son of Leonel Alves of Taunton and the late Lidoina (Medeiros) Alves, he resided in Berkley for the past 23 years.

Having earned an Associate's Degree in Human Services from BCC, he was employed with the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services for many years and was passionate about advocating for people with disabilities. Andrew enjoyed hunting, fishing, and motorcycles; and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Besides his wife of 31 years, and his father, he is survived by: three children, Andrew Alves Jr. (Stacey Pacheco) of Berkley, Nathaniel Alves of New Bedford, and Karissa Alves (Joseph Carvalho) of Fall River; three siblings, Brenda Boissoneault (late husband Gary) of Fall River, Gregory Alves of Somerset, and Patrick Alves (wife Lucy) of Dighton; two grandchildren, Joel Vieira-Alves and Brylie Carvalho; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, November 5th, at St. Bernard Church in Assonet followed by a private committal at Notre Dame Cemetery in Fall River.
