Obituary

Andrew "Drew" Michael Almeida, 46, of Fall River, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021. He was the husband of Amanda Lee (Hankins) Almeida with whom he shared 5 years of marriage.

Born in Fall River, he was a son of Ronald Almeida and Joan (Rezendes) Almeida, both of Fall River. A BMC Durfee High School graduate, Class of 1993, Drew went on to have a long career in retail sales, most recently as Manager for Best Buy.

Drew was an avid sports fan, taking joy in almost every sport, but especially baseball, the Boston Red Sox, and football, the Green Bay Packers. Drew also took part in a weekly podcast dedicated to sports. For the last 15 years, Drew was part of the Airsoft community, creating exciting events and helping to grow the sport throughout New England.

Being a father gave Drew an immeasurable amount of joy. He was happiest anytime he was with his two boys, whether taking them to parks and museums and zoos, or simply sitting home watching Bluey in the living room.

Some people would give the shirt off their back for a friend in need - Drew would give his shirt, the keys to his car, and a feast of the best chicken wings you've ever tasted, along with his famous bear hugs that are known to have powerful healing powers. Whenever possible, Drew enjoyed getting together with his friends and loved ones and before long, his guitar would come out and everyone would get to indulge in his love of music. He will be forever missed and remembered by everyone who knew him.

Besides his wife, Amanda, and his parents, Drew is also survived by: his sons, Lucas and Nolan Almeida; his brother, Jeremy Almeida of Seattle, WA; his step-sister, Amanda Paradise of Fall River; his step-brother, Tyler Botelho of Fall River; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

His Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, January 5th, in our Fall River Chapel followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Drew's memory to the fund created for his sons. Checks can be made out to "Lucas and Nolan Almeida" and mailed to Mechanics Cooperative Bank, PO Box 552, Taunton, MA 02780
