Angelina (Alves Barbosa) Paiva, 96, widow of Joao Botelho Paiva, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at home. Born in Ribeira-Seca da Ribeira Grande, Sao Miguel, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Jose Jacinto Barbosa and the late Maria da Gloria (Alves) Barbosa. As a fulltime homemaker she helped raise her grandchildren. Angelina loved to cook and bake for her family, and also enjoyed crocheting.

She is survived by: seven children, Maria do Carmo Pacheco (late husband Jacinto Pacheco) of Swansea, Maria da Conceicao Paiva (late husband Eduardo Mare) of Sao Miguel, Eduardo Paiva (wife Maria do Ceu Paiva) of Fall River, Jose Paiva (wife Natividade Paiva) of Swansea, Isabel Paiva of Fall River, John Paiva (wife Theresa Paiva) of Fall River, and Fernando Paiva (Graziela Paiva) of Fall River; eight grandchildren, Ricardo Mare, Martha Mare, Kevin Paiva, Jennifer Paiva Lynch, Phillip Paiva, Joshua Paiva, Derek Paiva, and Elizabeth Paiva; ten great grandchildren, Joao Mare, Jose Mare, Austin Paiva, Marta Medeiros, Jorge Medeiros, Andrew Paiva, Kelsey Lynch, Addison Paiva, Avery Paiva, and Nolan Paiva; and several nieces & nephews. She was also a sister of the late Maria do Jesus Barbosa, Manuel Alves Barbosa, Idalina Barbosa Melo, and Maria da Gloria Alves Barbosa.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, September 18th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal and entombment at the Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum.
