Anselmo M. "Sam" Sousa, 78, of Westport, passed away on Sunday. Husband of Matilde B. (Borges) Sousa, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage. Born in Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Antonio and Helena (Simao) Matias. Survivors include his son, Paul B. Sousa of Seekonk; brothers, Jose Sousa of Fall River and Henrique Sousa of Westport; sisters, Mariana Arruda of Hamilton, Canada and Isabel Fernandes of Toronto, Canada; grandchildren, Katelyn Sousa and Jaimie Sousa; and several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Maria Viveiros, Margarida Medeiros and Helena Cabral. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, February 20, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
