Obituary

Antone "Cal" Cambra, 87, of Tiverton, RI, formerly of Tremont Street, Fall River, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, May 24. He was the widower of Edith (Rodrigues) Cambra. Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Carlos P. and the late Maria Valentina (Aguiar) Cambra. He was a graduate of Durfee High School, class of 1939, and a World War II veteran, having served with the U.S. Army in the Aleutian Islands. He was a 21-year employee of ICI/America in Dighton, working as an analytical test technician in the quality control laboratory. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Father Boehr Council, in Tiverton, was an active member of the Tiverton Senior Center, and had participated in the "Over The Hill Gang" monthly dinner meetings. He was a lifelong member of St. Anthony of Padua parish in Fall River. He leaves a son, Anthony, and his wife Dorothea, of Fall River. He also leaves a grandson, Edward J. King, and his wife Karen, of Bristol, RI, and three great-grandchildren: Joshua, Alexa and Samantha King, all also of Bristol. He is also survived by a dear niece, Isabel Jusseaume and her husband Albert, of Tiverton; brothers James Cambra, Sr., and his wife Mary of Fall River, and Everett Cambra and his companion Angie Medeiros of New Bedford; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Hilda (Cambra) Souza, and brother-in-law of the late Agostina (Rezendes) Cambra. His funeral Mass was celebrated at St Anthony of Padua Church. Pallbearers Douglas Oliveira, Brian Raffensperger, Alan and Donald Jusseaume, Edward King, and James Cambra, Jr. brought Antone to his final resting place at Pocasset Hill Cemetery.
