Antone N. Medeiros, 85, of Somerset, died peacefully at home on Monday, May 12, 2008. He was the husband of the late Alice (Botelho) Medeiros. Born in Fall River, a son of the late Jose N. & Ambrosina (Pereira) Medeiros, he was a decorated WWII veteran of the U.S. Army, having fought in Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. A Somerset resident for 39 years, he owned and operated Tony's Tire Service in Fall River, belonged to the VFW Post # 5392 in Tiverton and was an avid reader. Antone is survived by a son, Tony Medeiros (wife Katie Harris) of Mansfield, daughter, Tammy Medeiros of Ft. Myers, FL, brother, Jesse Medeiros of Somerset, grandchildren, Joseph, Matthew, Ry and Ashley, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Manuel, Connie & Serafim Medeiros and Louise Bravo. His funeral was held on Friday, May 16, 2008 in St. John of God Church. Pallbearers Al Dushamel, Derik Dushamel, Mike Stevenson, Jim Palava and Bob Kerr brought him to his final resting place at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River where Military Honors were rendered.
