Antone "Tony" G. Moniz, Sr., age 80, of Tiverton, Rhode Island, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016, at St. Anne's Hospital in Fall River. He was the husband of Georgianna (Arruda) Moniz. Born at home in Tiverton on the family farm, he was the son of the late Seraphin Moniz and the late Laura (Costa) Moniz. A lifelong resident of Tiverton and the farm of his birth, Antone was an owner of the Moniz & Arruda Dairy Farm located on Stafford Road in Tiverton. A communicant of St Theresa Church in Tiverton, he was also a member of the Rhode Island Farm Bureau and the Massachusetts Farm Bureau. In addition to Jeannie, his wife of fifty three years, he leaves two sons; Antone Moniz, Jr., and Joseph S. Moniz (wife Anita), both of Tiverton, two brothers; John Moniz of Tiverton, and Seraphin Moniz of Auburn, New York, three grandchildren; Megan Moniz, Trisha Moniz, and Kimberly Moniz, all of Tiverton, and many nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Mary Roies, Emma Carvalho, Manuel Moniz, Dennis Moniz and Joseph Moniz. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, January 14th, in St Theresa Church, Tiverton. Interment private.
