Antonio O. Amarelo, 77, of Fall River, husband of Francelina (Almeida) Amarelo, died Thursday 7/6/12 at Kimwell Nursing Home after a long illness. Born in St Michael, Azores, son of the late Antonio Cordeiro Amarelo & Maria deJesus (Oliveira) Amarelo, he emigrated to Fall River in 1973. He had worked in the local textile industry prior to his retirement, and enjoyed gardening. Besides his wife, of 48 years, he leaves: 2 children, Tony Amarelo (wife Ana) of Fall River, and Lucy Estrela (husband Fernando) of Dartmouth; 1 sister, Lidia Farias of Vancouver B.C. Canada; 4 grandchildren, Eric, Kyle, Veronica & Carson; 1 great grandson, Brayden; several nieces and nephews. Also brother of the late Joao Cordeiro Amarelo & Maria Lourdes Sousa. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, July 10, in Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
