Obituary

Antonio Benjamin, 62, of Fall River, husband of Fatima (Resendes) Benjamin, passed away at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, after an illness. Born in Ginetes, and raised in Feteiras do Sul, St. Michael, Azores, a son of Conceicao (Caetano) Benjamin of Fall River and the late Manuel T. Benjamin, he emigrated to Fall River in 1988.

A laborer for many years, he worked for K. DaPonte Construction, retiring in 2020. Antonio was a member of the Amigos Unidos of Fall River. He enjoyed playing dominoes, gardening, making his own wine and moonshine, traveling, watching his favorite soccer team, Sporting, and spending time with family and friends.

Besides his wife, of 42 years, and mother, he is survived by: a daughter, Carmen Benjamin of Swansea; six siblings, Luisa Cordeiro, Joao Benjamin, Jose Tavares, Luis Benjamin, and Mario Benjamin all of Fall River, and Evaristo Benjamin of Dighton; five grandchildren, Aiden, Brayden and Braxton Benjamin, and Mia and Emily Francisco; and many nieces and nephews. Antonio was the father of the late Peter Benjamin.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, December 3rd, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by a private cremation.
