Antonio T. Bernardo, 72, of Westport, husband of Ana (Carreiro) Bernardo, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Rabo de Peixe, St.Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Jose and Maria (Terceira) Bernardo. He was a foreman in the construction industry for many years prior to his retirement. Although Antonio's true passion was pigeon racing, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. But most important to Antonio was his family whom he very much loved. Besides his wife of forty-nine years, he leaves: his daughter, Ana M. Leeds and her husband Robert and his son, Anthony T. Bernardo and his wife Melonie, of Fall River; three grandchildren, Gabriella Bernardo, Sara Pacheco, and Emily Pacheco; and many nieces and nephews. In respect to Antonio's wishes, his funeral arrangements were private.
