Antonio Farias Branco, a/k/a "Balao", age 91, formerly of Jencks Street, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, December 21, 2014, at the Crawford Nursing Home in Fall River. He was the husband of the late Margarida (Ferreira) Branco. Born in Mosteiros, Sao Miguel, Azores, he was a son of the late Joao Farias Branco and the late Francisca de Almeida. A resident of Fall River since emigrating to the United States in 1967, he was employed for many years at Pearson Yachts in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, until his retirement in 1985. Beloved father of Maria dos Anjos Mota (husband-Manuel), Natalie Arruda (husband-John), Mary C. Resendes (husband-Edwin), John (wife-Debra) and Norberto Branco; grandfather of Emmanuel and Christopher Mota, Maria Teresa Larguinha, Kevin Arruda, Nina Agudelo, Kimberly Chaplin, Kaylin Branco, Amanda and Brittany Resendes, and Aiden Branco. He also leaves seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. His funeral was private. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
