Antonio "Tony" F. Medeiros, 62, of Swansea, passed away at Charlton Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, due to complications following contraction of the Coronavirus. Born in Capelas, Sao Miguel, Azores, a son of the late Guilherme Medeiros Rego and the late Maria Angelina (Soares) Rego, he emigrated the Fall River area in the 1960s.
Retired for the last seven years, he previously worked at Rusco Steel and Genzyme. He enjoyed playing cards, traveling, going on long drives, dancing, volunteering and especially meeting people.
He is survived by: a son, Karlyn M. Smith of the Bronx, New York; three siblings, Maria Eduarda Ferreira of Fall River, Venilde Cavaco of Somerset, and Eusebia Lowery of Rochester, MA; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Isabel Botelho, Gilda Souza, and Liberio Medeiros.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, December 11th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Antonio's memory to a local Food Bank – Job Lot will match all current donations dollar for dollar.
