Antonio D. Fonseca, 71, of Fall River, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at St. Anne's Hospital. Born in Faja de Cima, St. Michael, Azores, a son of the late Joao dos Santos Fonseca and the late Maria D. (Cabral) Fonseca, he emigrated to New Bedford in 1984, moving to Fall River five years later.

For many years he worked long hours as a chef at various local area Portuguese restaurants. He is survived by his siblings, Floriberto Fonseca (wife Serafina) of Swansea and Eduardo Fonseca (wife Ana) of Fall River, and sister-in-law, Teolinda Fonseca of New Bedford, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was a brother of the late Joao Carlos Fonseca.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, March 11th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
