Antonio Furtado, 79, of Tucker St., passed away on Apri 27, 2008 at home surrounded by his family. Husband of Aida (Pereira DaRosa) Furtado to whom he was married for 54 years. Born in Faial, Azores, son of the late Jose & Maria Conceicao (Valadao) Furtado. A construction laborer for over 32 years, he loved fishing & gardening and was especially proud of his grape vines and fig trees. His greatest joy was spending time at home with his family. Father of John (girlfriend - Shannon Preston), Tony, Joe (friend Edward Darling), and Paul Furtado (girlfriend - Krystal Dennis), and Maria Boyer (companion – Roland Robitaille), brother of Manuel & Mario Furtado, Maria Macedo, Fernanda DaPonte, Aidinha Salgadinho and the late Eduardo Furtado, Serafina Franco and Maria Salgadinho, grandfather of Derek Boyer & Matthew Furtado. He also leaves many nieces & nephews. His funeral Mass was celebrated in Sacred Heart Church. His pallbearers Mark and Carl Medeiros, Mario, Manuel, John and Matthew Furtado brought Antonio to his place of rest at Notre Dame Cemetery.
