Antonio L. Melo, 73, of Fall River, husband of Maria J. (Marques), passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2019, at home surrounded by family. Born in Lomba da Maia, St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Adelino Melo Lindo and the late Maria Jose Morgada, he emigrated to Fall River in 1970.

He was a road construction foreman with Wildeca & Lorusso Construction Co. of Plainville for 32 years, and a member of Local 610. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, travel, volunteering for the Holy Ghost feast, making wine, and going out to dinner with his wife.

Besides his wife, of 48 wife, he is survived by: two daughters, Diane Benevides of Fall River, and Monica M. Martins of Fall River; eight siblings, Jose Augusto (wife Inoia), Adelino Melo (wife Bernardete), Manuel Melo (wife Leontina), Joao Melo (wife Delores), Isabel Almeida, Alfredo Melo, Nuno Melo, Lucia Coute (husband Alberto)six grandchildren, Amber Braga, Austin Braga, Andrew Braga, Tristin Martins, Caiden Martins, and Natari Martins; and many nieces & nephews. Also brother of the late Maria de Jesus Melo.

As per his wishes, h is funeral was private.  His Funeral Mass was celebrated in St Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
