Antonio M. Arruda, 64, of Westport, husband of Maria F. (Pavao) Arruda, died Sunday 5/15/11 at home after a long illness. Born in Remedios Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, he emigrated to Canada in 1966, moved to Fall River in 1969, and resided in Westport for the past 9 years. He worked as a construction foremen for many years with Cardi Corp. He was a member of the Madeirance Club. Besides his wife, survivors include: 2 children, Nancy Correia and Michael Arruda; 7 siblings, Eduarda Pereira, Maria Adelaide Botelho, Aldavina Hilario, Joao De Arruda, Francisco, Jose & Henrique Arruda; 6 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late marta Soares and Teresa Moreira. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, May 18th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
