Obituary

Antonio V. Medeiros, 87, of Somerset, husband of the late Maria Carmelia (Eugenio)Vasconcelos, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 following a brief illness. Born Povoacao, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Manuel Antonio de Medeiros and the late Maria Ines (Vasconcelos) de Medeiros.

Prior to his retirement he was a Kitchen Steward manager in the hotel industry for many years. He loved farming, tending to his pigs and goats, and traveling back to the Azores to visit family in his homeland. But what was most important to Antonio was spending quality time with all his family.

He leaves his loving children, Jose Luis Vasconcelos and his wife, Linda, of Bermuda, and Ines Leite and her husband, Jorge, of Somerset; his grandchildren, Victoria Owens (Mark), Samantha Maceta (Jimmy), Melissa Leite (Thomas Valorose), and Miguel Vasconcelos; his great-grandchildren, Merissa, McKenzie, Eliana, Lucas, Noelle, and Cody; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Maria Rocha, Sylvestre Vaconcelos, and Gilberta Fortuna.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, September 18th, at St. Patrick's Church of Our Lady of Peace Parish in Somerset followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in Antonio's memory to: American Cancer Society, Centralized Processing Center, P.O. Box 1120, Framingham, MA 01701.
